Dear members,

In recent days, numerous public health agencies – including the CDCNIH and WHO – have issued strong advice to avoid person-to-person contact to the greatest extent possible. Gatherings of 10 or more people are now being discouraged.

Accordingly, US Club Soccer is joining with other youth members of the U.S. Soccer Federation (AYSO, SAY and USSSA) in immediately suspending all activities within our jurisdiction through April 12.

To be clear: this includes not only activities directly operated by US Club Soccer, but also those US Club Soccer-sanctioned and related activities operated by member organizations, such as league and tournament play, scrimmages, practices/training, tryouts, team travel, large group meetings and related off-field activities. AYSO, SAY and USSSA are also taking the same measures.

US Club Soccer is continually monitoring the situation and will rely on expert public health advice for when it is safe to resume soccer activities. There will be a subsequent Member Update before April 12 addressing the possibility of returning to play or extending this cessation.

In the meantime, please frequent usclubsoccer.org/coronavirus, which includes an FAQ section, as well as links to applicable information from the aforementioned health organizations.

Additionally, US Club Soccer is working with its Players First partners to develop and distribute resources for players and coaches to continue to improve on their own through virtual skills contests, Facebook Live sessions on a variety of topics, and more.

Please continue to take every precaution, and make decisions with public health in mind, as we aim to flatten the curve of this pandemic. Thank you for your attentiveness in this matter.

Our Professional Coaches from 24/7 UK Soccer Academy,  are working very hard behind the scenes to provide suitable and age-appropriate training resources to keep players engaged in their training whilst away from practice and games. Given the new found pressure on families regarding distance learning, this is of course not mandatory. We hope to support our players (and parents) with relevant remote training opportunities that we believe they will benefit from.

Starting on Monday (3/23) we are excited to announce weekly training plans and “live” sessions for our players.  We will send a new email every Thursday with the plans for the following week.

Dear MSC Players and Parents,

I hope that everyone is safe and healthy. I just wanted to send everyone a quick reminder of the “at home” training tasks and “live” sessions that will be taking place this week. The links for the “live” sessions are also included in the information below.

Thank you all for your patience and please do not hesitate to reach out to myself, our board members and/or your coaches to answer any questions that you may have.

Schedule for next week (3/30/20-4/5/20) will be forthcoming.

An email will be sent to everyone (via the TeamSnap Admin platform) with a reminder of the activities for the week plus links to access the classroom sessions.

I wanted to share with everyone an interesting article that I read earlier today from Positive Coaching Alliance (PSA) on athletes dealing with the disappointment of cancellations and postponements during the coronavirus pandemic.

We don’t quite know how this will impact us in full, but we are committed to continuing to providing your children a service and will do whatever we can to repay soccer hours lost in the future.

Please be sure to send over any footage of your children partaking in the club challenges and getting work in at home.

Thank you all for your patience and support. Please do not hesitate to reach out to myself, our board members and/or your coaches to answer any questions that you may have.

Kind Regards,

Rob Busa
