Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) Training Sessions

With over 300 MSC affiliated players enjoying the benefits of the SAQ programs, it is time for more players to aim to get in top shape for the current season and beyond!

With rave reviews from players, coaches and parents alike regarding the benefits of SAQ training and conditioning in enhancing overall soccer performance on the field, PLAYERS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES are encouraged to engage in this fun and exciting program!

SAQ training is available on either Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays and runs for 10 weeks. Sessions will be led by Ray Head of 24-7 UK Soccer Academy. Ray is the Head of Sports Science for 24-7 UK Soccer Academy and is a qualified REPs Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor who has previously worked with elite youth athletes in both the UK and USA.

“SAQ training is an effective way of improving agility, with and without the ball, for young soccer players and should be included in physical conditioning programmes.” (Journal of Sport Science and Medicine, 2013)



$150 for Season Pass – 10 sessions total are included for EITHER the Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday clinics. (missed sessions can be made up on alternative days).

Players also have the option to attend multiple days to ‘double-up’ their training – please contact Ray Head regarding this option.

Training Methods

For the younger players in the ‘early development phase’ (U8-U10) the objective of the sessions will be to improve the following:

  • Psycho-motor skills
  • Endurance
  • Balance and stability
  • Timing
  • Coordination
  • Flexibility
  • Acceleration
  • Muscle Movement

For players whom are entering or are already part of ‘the competition phase’ (U12-U19) sessions will aim to develop soccer-specific fitness in the following areas through use of SAQ training, circuit training, interval training, plyometrics, body-weight exercises and strength training:

  • Physical conditioning
  • Dynamic movement
  • Object control
  • Power
  • Multidirectional speed
  • Balance and stability
  • Explosive
  • Strength
  • Agility
  • Endurance
