ABOUT MSC

History
Montclair Soccer Club, Oakland California,  was founded in 1969 and has been organizing soccer in  Montclair and other neighborhoods of Oakland for over 40 years.  The second generation of  MSC players is now on the field and former players have become coaches,  referees and MSC board members – expanding a lifetime connection to the Club and a lifelong love for the game.  Montclair Soccer Club is a non-profit organization run largely by volunteers striving to collectively create a supportive community that will allow our kids to thrive in youth soccer and build character as young people.

Mission

The mission of Montclair Soccer Club has progressed over the decades, much as the national soccer landscape has enormously transformed in the last several years.  We still bring the fun and fundamentals of the game to recreational and competitive players. We are now more structured to elevate the standard of the sport within our club by providing access to the highest level of professional coaching to our kids from under 5 years of age up to young adults, both recreational and competitive, and focusing on player and team development.

Goals

Our goals are to nurture a love of the game; to develop the most motivated, inspired and skillful players; and to retain the talent that the club develops.  We aim to do this by giving players and teams the platform to attain the highest level of competition they desire and can achieve while emphasizing the qualities of teamwork,  sportsmanship and love of the game.
